The veteran righthander was traded from Kansas City mid-way through the 1961 season. Formerly with Detroit, he has now pitched on three different American League clubs. Ray's best year was in 1960 when he pitched for a last place club, yet he still racked up 14 victories.

With a 6-foot-7 and 240-pound frame, Wood would have been right at home on the hardwood had he chosen to pursue his hoops dreams. Instead, he leverages his size to stroke home runs instead of 3-pointers. The Washington prospect boasts a powerful swing that launches pitches to every corner of the ballpark.

The Athletics acquired Don from the Yankees in a big trade before the 1954 season. Considered a great prospect. In 1952 with the Yankees' Kansas City farm team he hit .325, had 27 doubles, 14 triples and 23 home runs. He was voted the American Association's Most Valuable Player as a result. Played sandlot and Legion ball before he broke into baseball by attending a Cardinal try-out camp. With the Cards in spring training in 1951, then sent to Kansas City.
