The big veteran started in the Minors in '38 and has been in the Majors since he broke in with the White Sox in '41. Don led the AL with 40 Doubles in '42 and his best Big League batting mark was .292 in '49. The Browns traded him to the Tigers in May of '49. He's a handy man around the infield, capable of playing every spot. Don hit .289 for the Tigers in '50. In February 1953, he was traded to the A's.
Frank is the 1st ever to hit .300 with 20 HR, 100 RBI. 100 BB and 100 R in each of his 1st 3 seasons. He joined 7 Hall of Famers as the only players to have twice as many BB as K while hitting 40 HR.
Gil had his best year in '53 boosting his '52 Batting Average by 48 points and driving in over 100 runs for the fifth straight season. Converted from a Catcher to a First Baseman in '48. Gil hit .285 in '49, belting 23 Homers. With 32 round trippers in '50 and 40 in '51, he became one of the games' best long ball hitters.
