Signed to a $60,000 bonus contract by Padres out of University of Oregon last June, Dave made major league debut in 18-inning, second game of twi-nighter vs. Bucs, June 7th. Considered to be an advanced prospect, Dave averaged .410 in 37 college games in 1972, slugged 12 Homers, drove in 47 Runs and whiffed only 9 times in 144 At-Bats. In Dave's first 22 games with Padres, he hit .261, hit first pro Homer, broke up a no-hitter and had four Hits in one game.

Checking out the 2006 Topps Allen & Ginter card featuring Orlando Hudson of the Diamondbacks it is revealed that he was acquired in a trade with the Blue Jays on December 27, 2005. Lifetime, he has wacked 35 circuit clouts, while driving in 201 teammates and scoring 209 runs himself.

The Rangers didn't get a "full Nelson" in 2010, as their mighty right fielder endured three stints on the DL. Nonetheless, he was a fearsome force when healthy -the fifth player in history with at least 30 doubles, 20 homers and 75 RBI while playing no more than 108 games in a season.
