Don has been in the majors 3 years, has been with four American League teams, beginning and ending with St. Louis. He started with the Brownies in 1950, hit .273 for 139 games. In June of 1951 he was traded to Chicago. In November of 1951 he was sent to the Red Sox. 1952 saw Don play for Boston in 30 games, then Detroit for 45, and finally back to St. Louis for 18 games.
Hoyt's greatest game was a 1-0 no-hitter which he hurled against the New York Yankees in September 1958. Hoyt began his Minor League baseball career back in 1942!
