Another member of the Dodger youth movement is sinker ball artist, Ed Roebuck. Last season at Montreal he hurled the Most Complete Games, and tied for the lead in Shutouts and Most Victories. In Baseball since '49 he started his winning ways in '51 when he posted 14 victories for Elmira with a low 2.47 E.R.A. At Montreal the following year he won 15 and had a 2.29 E.R.A.



Hit .292 in 79 games for the Pirates in 1950. Had 16 doubles, 1 triple, 8 homers. Batted in 32 runs. Stole 7 bases. Batting 7th in the lineup for St. Paul in 1949, Danny hit .314, and drove in 101 runs. Joined organized baseball in 1946, after playing on amateur teams around home town. Mainly a third baseman, but played at short most of time for Pirates. Entered service, 1951.



Gerrit's outing of July 2, 2022, was the 250th of his career. He finished the contest with 1,790 strikeouts - more than everyone except Randy Johnson (1,877) and Clayton Kershaw (1,800) at that career juncture.
