Only 3 pitchers in the National League worked in more games than the Giants' relief ace in '51. George broke in at Knoxville in '48 and played for Jacksonville of the Sally League and Jersey City of the International League before making the Giants. George is a graduate of Ohio State University where he was a Football and Baseball star. He showed promise in High School, pitching 3 no-hitters.



"Peanuts" was the most improved hitter in the National League in 1951, boosting his average 69 points from .234 in '50. He was also the toughest man in the League to Strike Out in '51, fanning only 12 times. Starting in pro ball in 1937, Harry hit .311 at Los Angeles in '41 and got a trial with the Cubs in '42. He returned in '43 to hit .292 and .294 in '48. In 1949, he was traded to the Reds who sent him to the Cards in '50.



Frank was batting .371 when the Dodgers brought him up in 1960. He had his top year in '68 when he led the A.L. with 44 HRS. and was 2nd with 106 RBIs.
