Willie was runner up for Batting Championship last season and led the League in Triples and Stolen Bases. He was also tops in D.P.'s for outfielders. Willie was the N.L. Most Valuable Player in 1954.
Don did some fine work on the mound for the Giants in 1954, both as a starting pitcher and as a relief man. He started 19 games and had 3 shut-outs to his credit. The Giants acquired Don in a trade with the Milwaukee Braves. 1953 was his rookie year in the majors, and he had a 7-6 record.
