Monte started the 1948 season with Giants' Minneapolis farm team and had a 3-6 record. He joined Giants for rest of season and appeared in 25 games for them. He pitched in bad luck and wound up with a 3-9 record. However, a number of his losses could have been wins with luck on his side. Expected to be a valuable starter in 1949. Pitched no-hitter for Minneapolis.

Harry is a good pitcher, and what is even rarer, a good hitter among pitchers. With Tulsa of the Texas League in 1948 he had 15 pinch hits in 30 tries, which is considered something of a record down there. Launched his career in 1946 with Ogden, Utah, after returning from the service. That year he won 23 and lost 6 and had a winning streak of 17 straight. His earned run average was 2.09 and he struck out 209 batters. He had 24 complete games.

Terry possesses all the savvy to become a top-flight major league catcher. He had a fine year at Winnipeg in 1971, batting .280 and fielding .990 as a receiver. His handling of pitchers continued to improve and his arm gained the respect of baserunners so much that he spent the entire 1972 campaign in the majors, only his 4th season in pro ball. Terry was Winnipeg MVP, 1971.
