Phil joined the Cubs at the end of 1934, his first season in pro ball, and has been with them ever since, becoming their Manager in July of 1951. His greatest year was 1945, when he led the N.L. in Hitting with .355. In '44, Phil hit .321 and had marks of .314 and .311 in '47 and '51. In the '45 World Series, Phil got 11 hits and batted .423.



Pete has had a short career in organized ball, but he shows great promise. He was the Senators' regular shortstop in 1952, his first full season in the majors, and he batted a nice .285 for 152 games. His fielding percentage of .966 was second best among American League shortstops. Began in 1949, led the Sooner League in batting with a .372 average. Hit .330 in 1950 and .356 in 1951.



In 2001, Craig again proved that he's one of the toughest players in baseball. Following reconstructive knee surgery, he scored 118 runs and also amassed 28 hit-by- pitches. In his first 14 years with Houston, Craig won four Gold Gloves and was named to seven All-Star Games. He owns career highs of 56 doubles, 50 steals and 146 runs scored.
