One of baseball's best, George had difficulties with a bad back in 1953. Even so, he managed to get in 134 games, hit .307 and wind up as the League's best fielding third baseman. He has hit over .300 from 1946 until now. In May, 1946, George was traded from the Philadelphia Athletics to the Tigers, with whom he stayed until traded to the Sox in 1952. He won the American League batting championship in 1949 with a .343 average. Began in baseball in 1940.
Austin homered off Gerrit Cole in the Postseason to break up a no-hitter and tie the game. He was voted by players as an AL All-Star in 2019, finishing June slashing .291/.366/.516. He was named AL Player of the Month in September 2019 (1.269 OPS).
In six full seasons with the Cleveland Indians, "Hal" Trosky has never failed to drive in at least 100 runs. Trosky is one of the longest and most dangerous hitters in the American League, last year hitting .335 and batting across 104 runs. He won the runs- batted-in crown with 162 in 1936. He is also an adroit fielder, finishing right up with the leaders. Trosky's outstanding feat as an Indian was hitting 42 homers in 1936, a record for a Cleveland player. He has failed to hit 25 or more a season only once. Trosky came to the Indians late in the 1933 season, and the following year, his first full one, got 206 hits and batted .330.
