One of 18 children, Tommy began his pro ball career at the age of 17 with Fresno. After coming out of the Service in '45, Tommy hit .338 for Flesno and led the California State League in Stolen Bases with 64. He played for Houston in '47 and came up to the Cards after hitting .287 and 18 Homers for Columbus in '48. Tommy hit .267, .288 and .183 for the Cards in '49, '50 and '51. The Phils obtained the versatile infielder after the '52 season.



The Red Sox called "Nick" up from Louisville during the '50 season when he was leading the American Association in Strikeouts and had an 11-2 record. He won 8 for the Sox in '50 and had a 7-4 record in '51. Willie was signed to a Sox contract in '48 after winning 18 games and losing only 2 in 2 seasons at Auburn College. During the winter months he is employed by the Pepperell Manufacturing Co.



Al is another of the Cleveland sluggers who walked off with batting honors for the 1952 season. First, he tied a major league record by hitting 3 home runs in a game. In addition, he won the runs batted in crown with 105, led in total bases with 297 for 171 hits. Al hit his stride as a regular for the Indians in 1950, winning the home run title with 37.
