The Senators brought up Gary midway through the 1968 campaign. The 25 year old rookie was used late in the game for defense and as a pinch-hitter. Washington fans should see lots more of Gary in 1969.



Gehringer began his professional baseball career with the London Club in 1924. He entered the majors in 1925 with the Detroit Tigers with which team he is now playing.



The 2001 Golden Spikes Award winner for Southern Cal, Mark needed just nine Minor League starts before joining the Cubs. As a rookie in '02, he went 6-6, 3.32 with a staggering 147 strikeouts in 116 2/3 innings. Prior made the All-Star Team in '03, then challenged for the ERA and strikeout crowns.
