Garcia might have singlehandedly saved Houston's season in 2021. He took the hill in Game 4 of his league championship series against a Boston team that scored 21 runs in Games 2 and 3. Garcia allowed just one hit and whiffed seven over 5.2 innings as Houston won 5-0 and went on to take the series in six games.

Steve began the 1953 season with the Cleveland Indians, his only other major league team, and after appearing in 5 games for them, was traded to the Tigers. In a total of 24 games, Steve won 7 and lost 9. In 1951, with the Indians, he tied a major league record for the most putouts by a pitcher with 5 in a game. Began in baseball in 1940 with Flint. Was with Cleveland for a while in both 1941 and 1942. Returned to them at the end of 1943 and stayed there until the trade.
