Name that player!

All around utility man with the New York Giants. Can play practically any infield position. Was born in Angleton, Texas, in 1905 and began his professional career with Ardmore, Okla., at the age of 18. Throws right-handed, but bats either way. Five feet, nine and one-half inches tall, 150 pounds. First big league tryout with the Braves in 1929. Sent to the minors the next season. The Giants bought him last winter from Dallas, Tex., where he hit .298 in 149 games, stole 42 bases and starred as a second baseman.

Has played every infield position during career. Billy's 1951 batting average of .306 was the best that he has ever compiled in either the majors or the minors. Before 1951, he had not topped the .300 mark. He was in 77 games in '51. Had 68 hits for 89 bases. Drove in 36 runs.

Julius Solters, Browns. A 200 pounder, Solters proved a sensation in the American League in 1935 after being traded from the Red Sox with cash for Oscar Mellilo, second baseman. A second-year man with the Boston club, his great size and deceptive way of running, gave the impression that he was an awkward fielder. Yet, actually, he was both fast and a great fly catcher. His strength gave his drives great distance and he is expected to be one of the leading homerun hitters of the game this year. After being traded by the Red Sox he broke up nearly every game in which he faced his former club with the Browns.
