In 1949 - Roy's second year in the majors - he led NL catchers who were in 100 or more games with a fielding percentage of .985. Hit .287. Joined Dodgers mid-way in 1948. First attracted Dodgers' attention when playing against them in an exhibition game.



The 2006 Topps Allen & Ginter card featuring Jeff Kent identifies his current residence as Fresno, California. The Dodgers player also amassed 2070 hits in his career to date, including 321 Ruthian blasts while driving in 1312 runs.
