"Willie Kamm is holding on tight to his record as one of the best fielding third baseman in the American League. He has been at or near the top for seven years and he means to stay there. He was born in San Francisco, in 1900, and started professional ball with the Sacramento team in 1918. In 1919 he went to San Francisco where the Chicago White Sox spotted him and in 1923 bought him for cash and players said to amount to $100,000 or over. He is 5 feet, 10 1/2 inches tall and weighs around 170 pounds. He bats right-handed and throws right-handed. In 1931 he was traded shortly after the opening season to Cleveland."
