A quick review of the back of his 2006 Topps Allen & Ginter card reveals that Cliff Floyd to date has powered 202 homers, run out 298 two-baggers, and racked up 1250 hits for an overall average of .281.
Went to the White Sox from the Senators during the 1950 season. Eddie's fielding mark of .990 was just a point from the top AL percentage. He batted .295. Drove in 86 runs. Had 15 doubles and 21 homers. Took part in one triple play. Came to majors with Cleveland toward end of 1942 campaign. Spent next 3 seasons in the service. Farmed to Baltimore on return. Traded to Washington for 1949.
Switched from the Phillies to the Red Sox, May 12, 1952. In 84 games for the Phils in 1951, hitting .278 and driving in 34 runs. His 68 hits were good for a total of 105 bases. Drafted by the Phils from the Cards' farm chain for '51 season. At one time was manager in Texas League.
