Stepped right from the college campus of Alabama University to the Cleveland Club in 1921 when the Indians were in need of infield material. Hit .330 in 65 games in his first year with the big league. Was sent to the American Association in 1925, but came back to the big show as a member of the Cubs the next year, and has been with them ever since, hitting better than .300 every year.
