Nordiques Card of the Day

Everett Sanipass
Everett was traded to the Nordiques in the Greg Millen deal in March 1990 and immediately made an impact in Quebec, scoring six points in nine games. A big, physical player who cut down his penalty time dramatically in 1989-90, Everett is tough in front of the net, where he uses his size to screen opposing goalies. A full-blooded Indian, Everett was the Blackhawks' first-round pick in 1986. He scored 20 points in 57 games with Chicago in 1987-88 and then gave the Blackhawks a boost with two goals in his first playoff game on April 10, 1988 against the Blues. He played his junior hockey with Verdun and Granby in Quebec.

Name that player!

1st Rd. Draft Choice (20th overall) 1979 Entry Draft 1st NHL Goal. 11-10-79 vs. Rangers Doug Soetaert. Won the O'Keefe Cup as Nordiques Player of the Year, 1982-83. Holds Quebec team Records for "Most Goals - 1 Season," with 57, and "Most Shorthanded Goals - 1 Season", with 6.

Mark will get every chance to prove he can be an offensive star in the National Hockey League. Fortier's a young player who should only get better. He put up Gretzky-like numbers in junior hockey, scoring 201 points in only 65 games for Chicoutimi in 1986-87. Remarkably, he went undrafted by the big leagues. Marc possesses a hard, quick shot. He scored 20 goals on only 90 shots in 1988-89.

Richard was winner of O'Keefe Trophy as Nordiques' Most Underrated Player in '75-76.
