Name that player!

A strong physical center, Messier paced the Rangers in scoring last season despite missing nine games with back and wrist injuries. A leader in the NHL throughout his career, he and the Rangers are among the top contenders for the '93-94 Title.

Born Wetaskiwin, Alta, Dec. 2, 1933. 5'9", 160. Shoots left. Val is one of smoothest skaters in NHL, used as penalty-killer with Wings until Rangers drafted him last June. Val's speed makes him dangerous on breakaways.

"Brownie" came on strong last season and established a name for himself. He's a top rusher and good puck carrier. The Rangers got him in the big deal for then captain Andy Bathgate in 1964. A rolling hip check is one of Arnie's favorite tricks.
