Maple Leafs Card of the Day

Marc Reaume
Came to the Leafs in the dying days of last season after toiling for Pittsburgh Hornets, the American league champions. In his first Toronto Leaf game, Marc gave notice he'd be heard from in the big league by turning in a steady, heady game and operating in general with the poise of a veteran. He's a tall, well-built youth and is rated a good bet to gain a regular rearguard job.

Name that player!

Pete is getting his second chance to "make it" in the N.H.L. Has spent part of last two seasons between Rochester of A.H.L. and the Leafs. A husky forward who is highly rated by the Leaf management as one of their up and coming younger players.

Hailing from Nova Scotia, Parker is a crowd-pleasing type of player and showed flashes of potential power during his initial season in the big league. Was an outstanding junior with Marlboros and later sparkled with Pittsburgh, but confesses that the NHL is a tough league and has his hands full in keeping up with the game's top stars. A good skater, he has lots of speed, is also a good stickhandler.

One of the outstanding juniors produced by the OHA, "Big Chief" Armstrong sparkled in AHL competition with Pittsburgh before coming to Maple Leafs. So far, however, Army hasn't reached his peak, with the Leafs, especially when he was playing right wing. Last year, Coach King Clancy moved him back to the pivot slot and George seemed to feel more at home.

Jim Pappin
Although Jim has yet to play a full season in the N.H.L., last year was his longest stretch (64 games). He has scored 41 goals in N.H.L. competition. Last Spring Jim proved he was in the N.H.L. to stay by being the top point-getter in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
