Name that player!

Runner-up to Ralph Backstrom for the Rookie of the Year.

Perhaps the most remarkable athlete in hockey, Bower has played 10 years for Toronto after being considered "washed up" in 1958. His lifetime goals against average is under 2.50, the best in the game today. Broke into the NHL with New York.

A Toronto born player Billy is one of the crowd's favourites with his dipsy doodle skating and superb stick handling. Bill works very hard at playing hockey and during the year spends much time strengthening his wrists and legs in order to make himself a stronger player. Last year Billy was second top scorer of the Maple Leaf team with 16 goals and 28 assists for a total of 44 points. Billy continued his university education last summer by attending classes at the University of Toronto. Billy played all his amateur hockey with the Leaf Chain and was on the Memorial Cup Champions of 1955.

Back to the Front! Maple Leafs card back du jour...

Parker MacDonald
Hailing from Nova Scotia, Parker is a crowd-pleasing type of player and showed flashes of potential power during his initial season in the big league. Was an outstanding junior with Marlboros and later sparkled with Pittsburgh, but confesses that the NHL is a tough league and has his hands full in keeping up with the game's top stars. A good skater, he has lots of speed, is also a good stickhandler.
