One of the best two-way forwards in NHL, Gilles combines great speed with deft wrist shot. He has 26-goal average for three full seasons in NHL, and might have done better but for injury bugaboo. Not related to J. C. Tremblay.
Drafted in the summer of 1957 from Boston, Marcel was put to work in '57-58 as a utility forward getting a chance to play regularly when Maurice Richard injured his Achilles tendon. Playing with Moore and Henri Richard, Marcel came through solidly to plug the gap and was of immense help in the stretch drive.
Starting his 11th season with Canadiens, Kenny hopes to continue the sparkling play which earned him the centre slot of the 1st All-Star team last year. A 22-goal-man, he is also a top-notch defensive player and has been used many times in penalty-killing roles. During the summer he works building boxcars, swinging a sledge hammer all day to keep in top physical shape.
