Patriots Card of the Day

Don Oakes
The proper functioning of linemen is most important to a team's success. The vicious blocking leaves no room for the weak. Quarterbacks frequently call short plunges to Don's side to pick up valuable yardage for a first down.

Back to the Front! Patriots card back du jour...

Curtis Martin
Only 1st-year player elected to '96 Pro Bowl, Curtis ran away with every imaginable NFL Rookie-of-the-Year honor. Not only did he lead all AFC backs in rushing with 1,487 yards, but he out-rushed 9 NFL teams! Eric Dickerson, George Rogers and Ottis Anderson are only RBs in NFL history to rush for more yards as a rookie. His 9 100-plus yard rushing efforts broke Jim Nance's all-time Patriots record of 8 set in 1966.
