Patriots Card of the Day

Nick Buoniconti
What he lacks in size, Nick more than makes up for with his alert and aggressive play. Nick was second on the squad in pass interceptions. The former Notre Dame tackle made the successful transition to linebacker in the pros.

Name that player!

One of the most complete players in the league, Gino is a great pass receiver and place-kicker. He holds the AFL scoring record with 155 points in one season. The veteran will be out to break his record in 1966.

There was nothing the Colts defense could do to contain Amendola in Week 6 of 2015. The 5-foot-10 receiver caught seven passes for 105 yards in the Patriots' victory.

He played in the shadow of Brian Griese at Michigan and appeared destined for a similar role behind Drew Bledsoe in New England, as Tom arrived at the 2001 training camp as the third QB on the depth chart. Yet by the time the season ended, he was one of the top passers in the NFL. Taking over for an injured Bledsoe early in the year, Brady's quick feet and accurate arm led the Pats to Super Bowl XXXVI. He then was named the game's Most Valuable Player after leading his charges to a game-winning drive (with no time-outs) in the final minute.

Back to the Front! Patriots card back du jour...

Andre Tippett
Tippett's career was defined by a string of even numbers. He spent 12 years in New England, where he wore the No. 56 and retired with a clean (and franchise-record) 100 sacks. The two-time All-Pro selection, a second-round pick in 1982, was inducted to the Hall of Fame in 2008. Set a Patriots franchise record with 18.5 sacks in 1984. Named the 1985 UPI AFC Player of the Year member of the NFL 1980s All-Decade team.
