Abner Haynes
One of the greatest backs ever produced at North Texas State, a school which has gained consider able renown for producing topflight professionals, Abner Haynes was the Missouri Valley Conference's "Back of the Year" in both 1958 and 1959. A quick, elusive running back, 1890 yards on 347 carries, Haynes excelled also as a receiver, 46 receptions for 579 yards, and as a defender. He scored a total of 158 points during his three seasons at North Texas.

In a national television "event," Jadeveon announced on his 18th birthday that he would be attending South Carolina. The USA Today High School Defensive Player of the Year justified the hoopla by starting the 2011 Gamecocks opener and going on to finish in the school's top three for tackles for loss (47.0) and sacks (24.0). As a sophomore, Clowney was the program's first defensive consensus All-America player.

As Andre emerged as perhaps the finest receiver in the NFL in 2008, he became the Texans' initial First Team All-Pro on offense. He set an NFL single-season record with double-digit catches in seven games.
