Norman Van Brocklin
Norman, who was NFL passing champion in 1950, was nosed out for that honor in 1951 by his teammate, Bob Waterfield, in a very close race. Entered pro football in 1949 from Oregon where he starred in passing and punting.

Name that player!

A star on Frank Leahy's great Boston College elevens...made All-American honors in 1941 and 1942. During one season he blocked and recovered three punts for touchdowns...a vicious blocker and tackler. Served as a lieutenant in the Army Air Forces. Joined the Rams in 1945 and was one of two Rams who started all of their 1946 games. Hopes to become a coach when playing days are over.



Turned in second consecutive stellar season when he passed for 29 touchdowns and club-record 4,310 yards in 1989... Finished second to Joe Montana in NFC with 90.6 quarterback rating...Rallied Rams to tying or go-ahead score in final two minutes of six games... Named NFC offensive player of week after passing for 295 yards and 2 touchdowns, and completing team-record 18 consecutive passes in 31-10 victory over Giants in week 10.



One of the Rams' Fearsome Foursome, Merlin came into his own in a hurry. As a rookie, this immense defensive tackle made the Pro Bowl and he hasn't missed one since! Merlin was drafted #1 by L.A. in 1962 after being named to every All-American team for his line play at Utah State.

Frank Varrichione
The big tackle was voted the outstanding lineman on the Rams by his teammates. An All-American at Notre Dame, Frank played in the College All- Star game after the '54 season.
