Ranks high among Packers' all-time scorers. All-Pro fullback, 1944, 1945, 1946. Played for Stevens Point Teachers College. Plays basketball and semipro baseball. Also continuing studies at U. of Wis. Graduate School.

When he's not intercepting passes, Alexander is creating opportunities for others to do so. In the fourth quarter of a close game vs. the Rams, the defensive back tipped a pass that was picked off by teammate Anthony Johnson. The play helped the Packers secure a 20-3 victory in Week 9 of 2023.

Nelson became the first Packer since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970 to post a reception of 50-plus yards and a 50-plus kickoff return in the same game in last year's Week 17 victory at Arizona. He had a 51-yard catch and a 54-yard return, both career longs.
