Name that player!

One of James' strong points is his ability to drive to the basket and rebound. His jumping ability gives him an advantage over many guards in the areas of rebounding and defense. He has improved his playmaking skills each year he's been in the NBA as evidenced by his rising totals of Assists. He had 453 Assists in 1978-79.

Small forward with good speed...explosive leaper...shooting percentage from field and free throw line dropped in injury-plagued 1993-94 season... has three point range... effective out on break, strong finisher... must increase intensity and improve ballhandling to command more minutes.

Perhaps the most recognized dunk in the NBA belongs to Karl Malone, who has perfected his designer jam into an art form. All alone in the open court, Malone pulls up as he runs down the lane, jumping halfway through the paint. With his body fully extended, he places an arm behind his head and floats to the hoop, finishing the play with a powerful jam.

Back to the Front! Jazz card back du jour...

John Stockton
One of the things that is lost because of his fabulous playmaking skills is the fact that Stockton is a terrific three-point shooter. He finished fifth in three-point field goal percentage last season (.449). Opponents try not to lose track of Stockton after he passes the basketball because he has the knack of showing up behind the three-point arc for the trey.
