Mavericks Card of the Day

Jason Kidd
If John Stockton could do it, Kidd must reason, then why can't he? Kidd is still going strong and is contemplating playing into his 40s and emulating Stockton, who retired at 41. The Dallas offensive maestro began the 2010-11 season second in NBA career assists, 4,883 behind Stockton.

Name that player!

DID YOU KNOW? Drafted by Dallas in first round of 1981 draft ... Ninth pick overall.... Has park in Brooklyn named after him... Played in three straight All-Star Games (1985, 1986, 1987).

Alex began the 1990-91 season eighth among all-time NBA scorers. English was signed by the Mavs as an unrestricted free agent in 1990, ending his stay in Denver. Alex had a streak of eight straight 2,000-point seasons for Denver. English was named a NBA All-Star in all eight seasons. Alex has played in more games than any other active player and was the NBA's leading scorer in the 1980's. Ironically, Alex was the leading scorer against Dallas heading into this season.

Win, win, win. That's the only thing on Dinwiddie's mind every time he's on the court. "It's a blessing to play competitive basketball," the guard said. "I have no interest in playing losing basketball." The Mavs were more than happy to bring such a determined talent back into the fold in 2024-25.

Back to the Front! Mavericks card back du jour...

Walter Bond
A member of the CBA All-Rookie Team in 1991-92. Bond is a good rebounder for a guard who averaged 16.2 PPG with Wichita Falls last year. A pleasant surprise off the bench early in the 1992-93 season for Dallas, Bond averaged 9.4 PPG and 2.8 RPG while snatching 14 steals in his first 13 games for the Mavericks.
