Following a noteworthy career at Wichita State, Dave demonstrated ability to provide an instant surge when he entered pro lineup as he collected career high of 35 points vs. Royals in mid-February, 1967. Came to Bullets in trade 11-11-71.
Muresan turned down a 5-year guaranteed contract from Spain to sign with Washington. Moments after he was drafted, the non English-speaking Muresan uttered the words he had memorized for the TV cameras: “I love this game."
A flashy one-on-one master, Earl "the Pearl" Monroe dazzled NBA fans during his 13-year career. He was NBA Rookie of the Year in 1968 and was selected to the All-NBA First Team in 1969. He also won an NBA Championship in 1973 with the New York Knicks.
