A member of the Miami Heat's inaugural team, Long joined the Hawks three games into the 1994-95 season. He left Miami as the franchise's all-time leader in games played, appearing in 470 contests, and steals, with 664 picks to his credit.
A versatile athlete from Omsk, Russia, Volkov's deft passing and size were missed by the Hawks last season when he was sidelined with injuries to both wrists. He was MVP of the Soviet Union in 1989, placing ahead of Golden State's Sarunas Marciulionis.
As his nickname, "The Human Highlight Film," indicates, Atlanta forward Dominique Wilkins is one of the NBA's greatest showmen. The winner of the 1985 NBA Slam-Dunk Championship when he beat Michael Jordan with back-to-back perfect dunks, Wilkins made history when he triumphed again in 1990, joining Jordan as the only two-time winners. Wilkins nearly claimed a third title, but in what was perhaps the most exciting dunk contest ever, he narrowly fell to Michael Jordan in the finals of the 1988 event.
