An excellent shooter, Tom is an intelligent player and one of the best passers among the Knicks' big men. A 3-time All-American at Maryland, he holds the school's alltime scoring record of 1807 points in 3 varsity seasons. Tom was voted MVP of the 1972 NIT as Terps won the championship.
On the floor from tip-off to final buzzer, Grimes went the distance in Game 5 of a 2023 second-round playoff series vs. Miami. Jalen Brunson also put in a full shift, marking the first time since 1972 that two Knicks players (Walt Frazier, Jerry Lucas) played 48 minutes of a regulation postseason game.
Carl is probably the finest all around man in the league. In 7 of his 8 years, he's led the squad in scoring and last year he was N. Y. king in assists and foul shooting. Carl owns the Knicks mark for a single game with 47 points, and was voted on the Ali Star East Squad 5 times.
