Selected as the NBA's Rookie of the Year for 1975-76, Alvan led all rookies last season in average minutes played per game, rebounds, assists (450) and points. As a Sooner, Alvan was named Big 8 Conference Player of the Year 3 straight seasons. In Big 8 Conference Tournament he was a 3-time MVP Award winner and was named All-Big 8 3 times each by both AP and UPI.
Named the 1992-93 NBA Most Valuable Player... Led the Suns in scoring (25.6 ppg), rebounds (928) and assists (385) in 1992-93... Selected to his seventh consecutive NBA All-Star appearance... Member of the gold medal-winning 1992 U.S. Olympic Basketball Team... Selected as MVP of the 1991 NBA All-Star Game.
