The superstitious Manning, the only female athlete in Greenville County, Va, ever to have her high school jersey retired, insists on having the same meal - fried chicken, string beans and macaroni and cheese - before every game. She was twice named Virginia's Female High School Player of the Year.

In 2002, set a Charlotte club record by hitting a WNBA-leading 79 three-point field goals. Runner-up in WNBA Most Improved Player Award balloting in 2001. While at Harvard was a three-time Ivy League Player of the Year. Holds Harvard career records for most points (2,312), rebounds (1,134) and steals (308).
