An outstanding athlete in high school, Gene first signed with the Dodgers. Led NW loop in Strikeouts & Complete Games in 1963. Used as a starter and reliever.



Mike spent the first six seasons of his career in organized baseball playing for the Philadelphia Phillies farm clubs. Purchased by the Tigers' chain in 1966, Mike, who had been a shortstop till then, was converted to the mount. He hit .304 at Magic Valley.
