Name that player!

Vic hits a long ball, and is a good man in the outfield. He began the 1952 season with the Detroit Tigers and after appearing in 85 games for them was traded to St. Louis in a big deal. He's been in baseball since 1942. He began as an outfielder and has stayed one with the exception of 1943 with Buffalo when he appeared in 1 game, pitching 2 innings.

One of the rising stars in the A.L. Won 10 and lost 14 with weak Browns last season but finished 16th among the top junior circuit hurlers with a nice ERA of 4.16. In 1947 he won only six games but had an even better ERA mark of 3.58.

Hit .271 in 117 games for the 1950 St. Louis Browns. Drove in 55 runs. The Philadelphia Athletics sent Ray to the Buffalo Bisons for the 1949 campaign. He performed impressively in the International League, hitting .295 in 153 games, and driving 113 runs across the plate. He was responsible for 23 homers. His record at Buffalo amply justified his return to the majors.
