Name that player!

"Hank" began his professional baseball career with the Hartford Club in 1930. He entered the majors in 1933 with the Detroit Tigers with which team he is now playing.

At Kansas City on 7/21/08, Cabrera matched his personal single-game high with six runs batted in. He collected five hits on the day, including two doubles, and scored twice as Detroit rolled 19-4.

He didn't repeat his Triple Crown in 2013, but Miguel was the first righty hitter in either League since Rogers Hornsby to take three straight batting titles.

Back to the Front! Tigers card back du jour...

Jean Dubuc
Jean Arthur Dubuc, pitcher of the Detroit Americans, was born in St. Johnsbury, Vt., September 17, 1888. He first attracted attention as a ball player at Notre Dame University, playing on the same team that boasted Bob Bescher, George Cutshaw, Bert Daniels, Cliff Curtis and "Doc" Scanlon. After graduating in 1908, Dubuc joined Cincinnati, with whom he played for two seasons before he was sent to Buffalo, of the Eastern League. He quarreled with Manager Stallings at Buffalo, and was turned over to Montreal, with whom he played until the fall of 1911, when he was purchased by Detroit. He has been with that team ever since.
