Mariners Card of the Day

Samad Taylor
Samad's speed earned rave reviews in the Minors, and he has admirable power and contact skills, too. Taylor made his MLB debut on 6/17/23, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two walks and an RBI, then showed off his versatility by staffing four positions in 31 games. He returned to the big leagues in 2024, hitting safely in his first two contests.

Name that player!

Once Griffey added muscle to his lanky frame and strength to his syrupy smooth swing, the big smashes started to soar. In 1993, the Seattle superstar belted more than 40 homers for the first of seven times over the next eight seasons. What's more, his 351 total jacks from 1993-2000 were the most in the bigs.

Teoscar - a fastball-mincing machine of the highest order - rounds out an explosive Mariners outfield for 2023. The two-time Silver Slugger recipient ranked eighth in the AL in both HRs and RBI from 2020-22.

An extremely handy player since his claim off waivers four years ago, Sam offers sweltering speed and rangy outfield defense, chiefly off the bench. On the other hand, the 2022 Mariners won 35 of the 49 games he started - the highest percentage (.714) on the Club. When, in 2023, he thieved the 25th base of his career, he'd still been thrown out just twice.

Ken Griffey. Jr.
A crown jewel in Emerald City, Griffey glistened on and off the diamond for decades in Seattle. His playing career was adorned with a team-record 10 All-Star nods and 417 home runs, and his face was instantly recognizable on TV and print media. In retirement, he joined the franchise's Hall of Fame in 2013 and the ownership group in 2021.
