Name that player!

No. 1, The Double Play: Marty McManus says - the secret of the double play is quick, accurate throwing. Whether the shortstop or the second baseman starts the play, he must feed his throw to the "pivot man" shoulder high on his right side (see drawing), so that the latter can catch the ball and relay it to first almost in a single motion. Strong throwing arms are important to the players on either side of second base, because the completion of the double play depends largely on the speed of the relay-throw to first base.

Mike Scioscia saw Duran's potential during his time with Team USA in the spring of 2021. "He's a five-tool player," he said. "When you call a guy a five-tool player you're saying that he's special. He's in an elite group. I think that Jarren has that that skill set that can make him an impact player very quickly in the [big] leagues."

Standing 5'9" the left-handed hitting Boston Red Sox compiled a .312 BA in '50 while playing both ss and 3b.
