Name that player!

"Bubba" began the 1950 campaign - his rookie year - by winning the first 4 games in which he took part. His final record for the season was 8 and 6 in 31 contests. Badly injured toward end of season when a line drive hit him in the face. The injury, which required an operation, cut down his effectiveness in the season's late stages. Signed by the Phillies in 1947. In their farm system until 1950.

When it comes to clutch hitting, Johnny is the man for the job. He led the Phillies in home runs and runs batted in last season.

An outstanding receiver, Clay possesses a strong and accurate throwing arm. He led the National League catchers in assists (90) and was tied for the lead in double plays (16) in 1963.

Earl Torgeson
Earl came to the Phillies in a big three team trade in February of 1953. He's a good long ball hitter and a graceful man around first base. Earl is also something of both a fighter and a comedian. He likes a good practical joke. Injuries kept him on the bench a good part of 1953, although he still managed to get in 111 games. Batted .274. Earl had 25 doubles, 8 triples and 11 home runs to his credit, along with 64 runs batted in/
