Pound for pound, Pierre-Marc was the best scorer in the QMJHL in 2001-02. In fact, the 165-pounder scored nearly a point per pound, amassing 46 goals and 94 assists for a 140 total. On October 11, 2002, at age 18, Minnesota's No. 1 pick debuted in the NHL. Bouchard admitted that adjusting to a professional lifestyle was difficult, "but everybody has to go through it. I'm going through it at 18." A potent mix of speed, vision and passing skill, Pierre-Marc also fires accurate wristers and slapshots.
This big rookie right wing led OHA last season with most goals and most points playing for St. Catharine's. Touted by Hawks' scout Kenny Campbell as junior most likely to succeed.
Bobby came from Junior "A" to the Bruins last year with more publicity than any rookie in the N.H.L. had ever received. Bobby responded by being named N.H.L. "Rookie of the Year," and in spite of his young age (19 years) he has already taken over as "leader" of the Boston team.
