Although Bob boasts one of the hardest shots in the N.H.L., he isn't a big scorer. In fact, he didn't score a Goal in 55 games in the 1952-53 season, but is always on the ice when the Bruins are in a tight spot because of his defensive play. Bob joined the Bruins for 2 games in 1951 and spent the 1951-52 season with Hershey, where he had 6 Goals.
It says great things about "Jiggy" that the young goalie, while backstopping a team captained by world-class superstar Paul Kariya, was widely considered Anaheim's 2001-02 MVP. During one torrid stretch in late January and early February, he put together a six-game winning streak in which he allowed just nine goals and shut out the high-octane St. Louis Blues, 1-0, with a 15-save effort. Giguere is clearly the rock of Anaheim's future in goal.
