Drafted in the summer of 1957 from Boston, Marcel was put to work in '57-58 as a utility forward getting a chance to play regularly when Maurice Richard injured his Achilles tendon. Playing with Moore and Henri Richard, Marcel came through solidly to plug the gap and was of immense help in the stretch drive.



Stanislav ranked seventh among NHL rookies in points in 2002-03. Two of his 12 goals were game winners, and he scored three times on the man advantage.



Once before, the NHL had a brilliant center of French extraction whose nickname was "Pit" and that was Pit Lepine of the Canadiens. The Red Wing youngster's given first name is Hubert, but it's seldom used. Pit showed great promise as a rookie last season.
