Although Bob boasts one of the hardest shots in the N.H.L., he isn't a big scorer. In fact, he didn't score a Goal in 55 games in the 1952-53 season, but is always on the ice when the Bruins are in a tight spot because of his defensive play. Bob joined the Bruins for 2 games in 1951 and spent the 1951-52 season with Hershey, where he had 6 Goals.

Like teammate Doug Favell, Bernie came out of the Boston Bruins farm system. He's an excellent "standup" goalie who plays the angles very well. Bernie has an extra-quick glove hand and he's quick on his feet. He broke into the NHL with Boston in 1965 following an outstanding career in junior hockey.

4th Rd. Draft Choice (69th overall) 1980 Entry Draft. 1st NHL Goal, 10-18-80 vs. Islanders Billy Smith. Member of Campbell Conference squad in All Star Game, 1983 and 1984. Holds Oiler team records for "Most Goals 1 Season, by a Rookie" and "Most Assists - 1 Season by a Rookie". Scored 5 goals, 11-19-83, vs. New Jersey.
