As a pass catching end in college, Tom rated with the best in the country. He was voted All-Missouri Valley every year, was mentioned on several All-American Teams and in 1950 placed 2nd in the Nation among offensive ends. When he joined the Cards in '51 Tom was put on defense and the experiment was a complete success. Today he is one of the finest defensemen in the N.F.L. - a whiz at tackling and an airtight operator on pass defense.
Looking to improve on recent disappointing seasons, the Patriots took a step in the right direction when they selected Bledsoe with the first overall choice in the 1993 NFL draft. The Cards were in contention for the Eastern Division Crown last season, but fell by the wayside. They ended the season in fourth place with 8 wins, 5 losses and 1 tie. They led the NFL in PRS with an 86 yard TD, in KORS with a 94 yard TD.
