A Detroit Lion, 1948-49. Becomes a Yank in 1950. Set new Lions' pass receiving record in 1949 by catching 66 for 1,014 yards - second best in league. Played end for University of Michigan. Gained first prominence on Fritz Crisler's great 1947 West Conference and Rose Bowl championship team. Served in Navy. Plays basketball and softball.



Bennett's brother Richie, crippled by cerebral palsy, coaches a wheelchair basketball team. Such grit runs in the family. Drew started his career at UCLA as a QB, and has since come out of the undrafted ranks to claim an ever-increasing role on the other end of aerials for the Titans. On 12/21/03 in Houston, the last of his five catches was a game-winning, 23-yard TD with 17 seconds remaining.



The Bears, like their Eastern counterparts suffered defeats in '64. The '63 NFL Champs dropped to 6th place in their division, winning 5 and losing 9 in '64. They led the league with 494 pasting attempts and 282 completed passes.
