One of the NFL's outstanding rookies of 1970, Duane capped a superb season with a fine 1971 Super Bowl performance against the Colts. He led the Cowboys in kickoff returns with 19 for 416-yards and a 21.9 average (his longest going for 33-yards), in rushing (with a 47-yard touchdown run to his credit) and he also caught ten passes for 73-yards. his longest was a 17-yard gainer. Duane has great hands, he's a good blocker and he's got great size and speed. A good hurdle and sprint man in high school, he averaged 6.0-yards per carry with 2378-yards in 396 attempts in three seasons at West Texas State with 595-yards in five games as a sophomore, 708-yards as a junior and 1072-yards in his senior year. He got his opportunity with Dallas when Calvin Hill was sidelined by an injury, and was a starter rest of year.

The Falcons ground game was spearheaded by Junior as he paced Atlanta in rushing with a sparkling 4.0 yd. average. He is a fine receiver.

Texas A&M played an SEC-only schedule in 2020. With a chance to prove himself against elite competition, Spiller aced it. The rusher romped for 174 yards against Florida, 134 against LSU and 120 at Auburn to highlight a scintillating sophomore campaign against the elite college conference.
