Keith, one of pro football's most versatile players, can handle any of a number of jobs for the Chargers. A hard running fullback, Keith can be used effectively as a halfback, end, defensive back and even a quarterback if the situation comes up. With good hands and good speed, he led the Chargers and finished third in the A.F.L. in kickoff returns last year. An injury hampered Keith in 1963.
An off-season trade in 1967 brought Gary to the City of Brotherly Love in exchange for two players and a top draft pick. A favorite receiver of quarterback Norm Snead, he's been used on kick-off returns.
The Eagles' rebuilding program is well underway. Coach Kuharich put together the best offensive team in the East, as the Eagles scored 363 points. This year the emphasis will be put on defense as the team tries to move up.
