One of the NBA's most improved big men, Schrempf was Indiana's leading rebounder with eight a game and third leading scorer with 16.1 ppg. A former soccer star and exchange student from West Germany, Schrempf, always known for his all-around athletic abilities, has become the league's most feared weapon off the bench.
Bob is regarded by experts as the top performer in the game today. Last season, he roared back after suffering a broken wrist to lead the Hawks to the Western Division Championship. In his Freshman season, Bob won the Rookie of the Year award and he topped the loop in total points in 1955-56.
Despite a predictably bad 16-66 first season, the Suns have built a winning tradition since joining the NBA in 1968.
